Jim Jones, Chief Operating Officer, joined Moreton & Company in 2012 with 33 years of insurance industry experience. Jim spent much of his career in insurance as a producer, and the last 14 years as a COO. During his career, Jim has been on boards for the Utah Independent Insurance Association, as well as the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce.
Jim grew up in Bountiful, Utah, and after graduating from Bountiful High School he attended Utah State University for a time. Following service of an LDS mission in Korea, Jim continued his education at the University of Utah, and oddly enough, became a BYU football fan.
Jim has been happily married to his wife Bev for the past 34 years. He enjoys spending time with his family, especially his four children and 10 grandchildren. His family likes to spend time camping, fishing (including ice fishing), golfing, and gardening. He is always looking for an excuse to go on a high adventure outing, so working with the Boy Scouts for many years has been a great fit for Jim. In his spare time, Jim and his wife work in Salt Lake helping those who struggle with addictions, as well as other physical and mental problems. They also help immigrants find the resources necessary to sustain life.
