EY Volunteer PicJunior Achievement USA (JA) and E*TRADE announced an initiative in which E*TRADE colleagues, leveraging JA curriculum, will teach students in seven markets across the country, including our own JA of Utah.

This summer, E*TRADE colleagues volunteered to help support the 6th Annual JA 5K Challenge and Fun Run at Rio Tinto Stadium and participated in the 31st Annual JA Golf Classic at Park Meadow Country Club.  Proceeds from these event provide JA in-class program to students throughout Utah.  JA in-class programs  educate students about real-world concepts in entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy using Junior Achievement’s experiential curriculum. Through their participation in JA programs, students will learn important skills such as budgeting, how to successfully interview for a job, and how to start their own business venture.  E*TRADE  colleagues also volunteered at  JA City, provided 5th grade students the a real-world look at what it’s like to be an adult for the day.

“This initiative delivers squarely on our mission of empowering individuals to take control of their finances,” said Kimberly Walton, Senior Vice President at E*TRADE Financial. “When it comes to career preparation and financial literacy, you can never start learning too early – and we’re thrilled to work with JA to help students through real-world experiences in schools throughout the country.”

Thanks, E*TRADE
