Parents
Research shows that parent involvement in a child’s education, rather than income or social status, is the greatest predictor of student achievement.
A good reason, as if you needed one, to become more involved in your child’s education. And, without a doubt, a good reason to become a JA volunteer.
This year, JA volunteers (many of whom are parents) will be in 30,000 classrooms teaching financial programs to nearly 60,000 students throughout Utah.
JA volunteers spend five one-hour sessions in class, inspiring young people to discover how to prepare for their future, to think with direction, to work hard in school, and to dream big. Educators welcome JA volunteers because they know the lessons they teach are relevant- and life-changing.
Becoming a JA classroom volunteer is as easy as it is rewarding.
Every grade-appropriate program comes complete with all the class materials and support volunteers and need to ensure a positive teaching experience. So if taking a message of opportunity and economic understanding to a classroom of students (one of whom happens to be related to you) sounds like a great idea, contact the PTA President or the principal at your child's school, today.
