L. Dean Rees Scholarship
Anthony Rich, 2009 Scholarship Recipient
Junior Achievement of Utah, in partnership with Savage Industries, has named Anthony Rich the 2009 L. Dean Rees Scholarship recipient. Anthony graduated from Riverton High School in 2009 within the top 15% of his class. He is currently attending Salt Lake Community College where he is working on an Associate of Science degree. Anthony is known in the community for his leadership in athletics, example in the classroom and pride as a volunteer. On the football field he led the Silverwolves to the Region playoffs as a varsity linebacker for 3 years. He also contributed to the win of the school's region championship title in track and field. In the classroom Anthony earned respect from his teachers and peers for the example he set and the integrity he showed towards his school and studies while participating in the DECA program and National Honor Society. As volunteer with the Utah Special Olympics, Anthony is proud that he continues to learn more from the athletes in this program than he could possibly teach them. Anthony looks forward to representing the Utah Junior Achievement program as the L. Dean Rees scholarship recipient for 2009.
