Discovering Careers in Finance, Aviation, Corporate Law, & Sports Entertainment
Financial Services
Students from Kearns, Cyprus, West High, Davis Catalyst, and Wallace Stegner joined the team at Fidelity Investments for an inside look at careers in financial services and technology. Industry professionals shared insights into cybersecurity, market mechanics, FDAS, and financial security while helping students better understand how technology plays a critical role in protecting systems, data, and investors. The experience highlighted the wide range of opportunities available within the financial industry and helped students see how their education connects to future careers.
Aviation Operations
Davis Catalyst aviation students went behind the scenes for an unforgettable look into aviation life with Delta Air Lines. Exploring both “above-the-wing” and “below-the-wing” operations, students gained direct exposure to flight operations, aircraft maintenance, and customer service. Airport mentors emphasized the power of collaboration, with one noting, “The best thing you can do is figure out teamwork and look to Delta for a career, not just a job.”
Legal & Administration
At the Salt Lake City office of Kirton McConkie, students pulled back the curtain on the legal world. They discovered that running a successful law firm takes a village, exploring vital roles in IT, HR, finance, and marketing. To top off the day, the students stepped into the courtroom themselves, showing off their curiosity and enthusiasm during an exciting mock trial.
Sports Entertainment
The opportunities didn’t stop there. Students also stepped directly into the fast-paced world of the Utah Jazz; leaving the traditional school day behind, they explored the behind-the-scenes mechanics of sports entertainment—from grand-scale stadium operations and marketing to the high-energy execution of game day. Thank you to the SEG Community for opening their doors and creating this experience for our students.
