The Governor and First Lady of Utah recognize Junior Achievement for their help in achieving the #1 state ranking.
We celebrated a wonderful Governor’s Breakfast this month! We want to thank Governor Spencer Cox and First Lady Abby Palmer Cox for supporting Utah students and educators through JA programs.
The JA Governor’s Breakfast is a long-standing tradition, allowing us to show our appreciation for the Utah Governor and his support of work readiness and economic development in our state. We’ve been fortunate to have the sitting Governor join us every year over the past 38 years.
In referencing the U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best States Rankings, Governor Cox remarked at this year’s event, “If it were not for Junior Achievement, Utah would not have finished first in financial literacy in high school, which [means] we would not have finished fourth when it comes to education, [and] as a state, we would not have finished first overall. I just want to thank Junior Achievement for helping us achieve that number one ranking, because you’re truly making a difference.” The report evaluated the performance of all 50 states across eight key categories with the intent to show how effectively each state serves their residents.
It was an honor to host the Governor and First Lady of Utah, and we are truly grateful to Fidelity for sponsoring this event. We look forward to continuing this beloved tradition at our next Governor’s Breakfast in 2026!
