This summer, Junior Achievement of Utah had the honor of hosting Junior Achievement USA’s National Leadership Conference, welcoming more than 300 JA leaders from across the country to Salt Lake City for several days of learning, collaboration and inspiration. As hosts, we were especially proud to share a little of what makes Utah—and JA of Utah—so special, from strolling through downtown Salt Lake City to exploring the mountains of Park City. Most meaningful, however, was the opportunity to put JA’s impact front and center. Attendees heard directly from JA alumni now attending college, as well as one inspiring JA alum whose first connection with the Utah Jazz came as a West High School student through a JA job-shadow and mentorship partnership with Delta Air Lines and the Jazz—and who today works for the sports organization. It was a powerful full-circle reminder of what can happen when students are given meaningful exposure, mentorship and opportunity. We were proud to welcome our JA colleagues to the beautiful place we call home and even prouder to share the students and stories that make our work in Utah so meaningful.
