We’re still buzzing with excitement after an unforgettable Junior Achievement “It’s My Business” Competition with CNBC featuring students from Draper Park Middle School! These young entrepreneurs wowed us with their impressive business ideas. We were honored to have Sharon Epperson from CNBC host the event and delighted that Shara Park from KSL 5 TV joined us for a special Q&A with our student audience. A special thank you to the entire CNBC team for giving us this incredible opportunity and guiding us every step of the way!
As part of the third installment of the “Cities of Success” franchise, CNBC chose to partner with Junior Achievement of Utah because of our commitment to educating young people about entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy. Students from Draper Park Middle School learned how to turn a simple idea into a thriving business through the help of notable coaches, mentors, and judges from the Salt Lake City area, all who have experience as a community or business leader. This unique event was hosted at Woodbury Junior Achievement City in Orem, Utah on December 11, 2024.
A huge thank you to Pamella Saltmarsh, their dedicated teacher, and our amazing coaches and judges: Steve Daly, Brandon Fugal, Sandi Hendry, Ashley Caldwell, Joon Beh, Morgan Brown, and Trent Mano. Thank you to Brett Anderson, JA Board Member, for helping introduce our judges and supporting the event with your leadership and enthusiasm. Lastly, we’re incredibly grateful to Instructure and the Millerberg Giving Family Fund for ensuring JA programs continue to impact students at schools all over the state like Draper Park Middle School. Thank you to everyone who made this experience unforgettable. We can’t wait to see what these students achieve next!
