Woodbury Junior Achievement City in Orem has earned the Gold Award in the Nonprofit Organization category for Best in Utah County! This community-voted recognition is especially meaningful because it comes from the people who help make our work possible.
At Woodbury JA City, students get to experience how classroom learning connects to life. Through JA BizTown, fifth graders take on jobs, run businesses, earn paychecks, and make spending decisions within a simulated community. Through JA Finance Park, eighth graders navigate the financial responsibilities of adulthood, creating budgets and balancing needs, wants, and the realities of an assigned income.
Along the way, students practice communicating, collaborating, solving problems, and making financial decisions. They discover strengths, explore possibilities, and build confidence through experience—all with support from educators and community volunteers.
This award belongs to the community behind those experiences: the teachers who prepare their students, the volunteers who guide them, the business partners and donors who invest in their futures, and everyone who voted for us. Thank you for helping make Woodbury JA City a place where young people can see what’s possible and begin building the skills to pursue it.
